- A Traffic Order (TO) is an Order providing for prohibition or restriction of traffic.
- Orders are made under various sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 following a process of informing affected parties and advertising notices when required.
- Traffic Orders allow RTT on behalf of our Clients or Work Promoters to make changes to the way roads are used, or to close off portions of the network when repairs are needed.
- With TTRO or TRO, traffic or pedestrian movement can be banned from making certain movements, speed reduction, road closure and some on street assets may be removed, installed and amended.
- Prohibitions or restrictions can be temporary, permanent or experimental. In every case it is vital to make sure that the Order is made according to the provisions of the Act. If the procedure is flawed, or if deadlines are not met, the
- Traffic Order could fail causing embarrassment, extra expense and perhaps severe difficulties for the contractor and the public if it is not drafted property or if the processing is compromised.
